Beginning in June, Hayes, an accomplished airline executive with prior senior leadership experience at British Airways, will assume his new position. He shall oversee the operations of Airbus in the area, specifically in Mobile, Alabama, where the company has recently increased production of narrow-body aircraft. Its clientele consists of Delta Air Lines, the individual's former employer JetBlue, and Spirit, the airline aiming to acquire the company.
"Extremely difficult tasks and pressure of this position have worn me down, and after consulting with my physician and wife, it is time for me to place a greater emphasis on my health and well-being," Hayes stated in January, when he announced his departure from JetBlue.
