Bomb Threat on American Airlines: Is it a False Alarm?
An American Airlines flight was diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport on Wednesday due to an alleged bomb threat. The flight en route from Newark to Dallas Fort Worth was redirected after a flight attendant discovered a note in the bathroom. The FBI reported that the note, written in pink pen, stated, "There's a bomb on board."
Upon landing, FBI agents, local law enforcement, and K-9 units checked the aircraft and conducted a thorough search. "The plane was completely swept, and no threat was found," stated the FBI. The last two passengers who used the bathroom were interviewed and searched, but no pink pen was discovered.
Currently, there are no suspects or information about when the note was written. The flight was eventually cleared to continue to Dallas and landed safely at its destination. The investigation is still ongoing, and officials are working to find the source of the threat.
