Car Rental Booking by Phone

Talk to a travel expert — call +1 (323) 800 6001, 24/7.
Real people, no bots. We find your options and book it over the phone.

Fond Travels compares car rentals across major rental companies and books the right one for you, in the United States or abroad, at an airport or in town, for a weekend or for months. Call +1 (323) 800 6001 at any hour with your pickup city, dates and how many people are riding, and a travel expert reads back the vehicle, total and pickup details before you confirm.

Booking online looks simple until the details bite: a counter that closes before your delayed flight lands, a one-way fee at checkout, or a minivan that seats six when you needed seven. Our experts book rentals every day and know which questions to ask.

If you also need flights, a hotel or a full vacation package, one call covers all of it, with the car timed to your arrival and departure.

What's included when you book a car with us

  • A comparison across major rental companies at your pickup location, with differences in mileage, fuel policy and counter hours explained.
  • The all-in total quoted before you pay, including airport fees, taxes, and any one-way or young-driver charges that apply.
  • Pickup timed to your flight, with the flight number on the reservation so the counter expects you if you land late.
  • The right vehicle class for your group and luggage, confirmed against seating and cargo, not just the category name.
  • Extras arranged in advance: child seats, additional drivers, toll transponders and GPS.
  • Written confirmation with confirmation number, pickup address, hours, required documents and cancellation terms.
  • One number for changes: extend, shorten, switch the return location or cancel through the same expert, 24/7.

How car rental booking by phone works

  1. Call +1 (323) 800 6001. Tell us where and when you need the car, where you will return it, how many travelers and bags, the driver's age, and whether you are flying in.
  2. We compare and recommend. Your expert checks availability and totals across major rental companies at that location, flags after-hours pickup or cross-border limits, and recommends a vehicle class.
  3. You confirm. We read back the vehicle, total, pickup and return details and cancellation terms, then book it. Most rentals reserve without prepayment; we tell you when a rate is pay-in-advance.
  4. You get the confirmation and a checklist. Bring your license, a credit card in the driver's name, your confirmation number and, abroad, your passport and any permit required.

Which car fits your trip?

Economy and compact. Two adults with carry-ons, city driving and tight parking.

Mid-size and full-size sedans. Three or four adults with checked bags and long highway drives. The default for most families of four.

SUVs. Compact SUVs suit two to four people with extra cargo; full-size SUVs handle five to seven with luggage, mountain roads and snow. All-wheel drive is not standard, so ask if you need it.

Minivans for seven or more. Sliding doors, three rows and room for strollers and coolers. We check that the vehicle carries your people and bags.

Luxury and premium. Executive travel, anniversaries and client visits. Limited at smaller locations; book early and expect a higher hold.

Convertibles. Coastal drives in California, Florida and Hawaii. Trunk space is small, so pack light.

What to know before you rent a car

  • Driver age. Most US locations rent to drivers 21 and older, with a daily young-driver fee under 25; rules vary abroad. We quote the fee up front when it applies.
  • License and credit card. The driver needs a valid license held for at least a year and a credit card in their own name. Expect an authorization hold released after return.
  • Insurance. The counter offers a damage waiver and liability coverage. Your personal auto policy or credit card may already cover rental damage in the US; coverage abroad varies. Check with your insurer and card issuer before the trip.
  • Fuel policy. Most rentals are full-to-full: return it at the same level or pay the company's refueling rate.
  • Tolls. Many regions use cashless tolling. Companies offer a transponder for a daily fee or bill tolls plus an administrative charge afterward.
  • One-way rentals. Common, but drop fees vary widely by route and company. We compare them for you.
  • Cross-border driving. Taking a US rental into Canada is usually permitted with notice; Mexico is often prohibited or requires separate insurance. In Europe, some countries may be restricted. Tell us your route.
  • Child seats. Infant, toddler and booster seats can be reserved for a daily fee. Many families bring their own; most airlines check car seats at no added charge.
  • Additional drivers. Each extra driver must be present with a license at pickup. Spouses are sometimes included at no charge; elsewhere a daily fee applies.

Common situations we handle

A family arriving at an airport. Two adults, three kids and two car seats landing in Orlando at 9 p.m. We reserve a minivan at the on-airport location with the flight number attached, add a toll transponder, and confirm the counter is open late.

A business traveler going one way. A consultant flies into Dallas, drives to Houston and flies home from there. We compare one-way drop fees across companies, choose a mid-size sedan with unlimited mileage, and align the return with the departing flight so no extra day is charged.

Snowbirds renting long-term. A retired couple spends January through March in Arizona. We compare monthly rates against consecutive weekly rentals, check mileage caps and mid-stay swaps, and schedule pickup for the day their senior flight reservation lands.

Cars as part of a package

A rental car is often the piece that makes a trip work: the airport-to-resort drive in the Caribbean, a national park loop, or a week in the European countryside. When you book the car with your vacation package or hotel, we confirm pickup location, hours and vehicle match the itinerary. See Caribbean, Mexico and Europe packages, current deals, or start with the Plan My Vacation form.

A valid driver's license, a credit card in the driver's name for the security hold, and your confirmation number. Renting abroad, bring your passport and, in some countries, an International Driving Permit. Additional drivers must be present with their licenses at pickup.

Most US locations rent to drivers 21 and older and add a daily young-driver fee for ages 21 to 24; a few states allow 18. International minimums and upper age limits vary by country and company. We tell you the rule and any fee before you book.

Not always. Your personal auto policy and many credit cards cover rental damage in the US, though coverage abroad and for certain vehicle types is limited. Check with your insurer and card issuer before the trip, then decide on the counter waiver with facts, not pressure.

Some locations accept debit cards with extra identification, proof of a return flight and a larger hold, and often exclude luxury vehicles. Others require a credit card. Tell us how you plan to pay and we will book a location whose policy matches.

Yes. One-way rentals are widely available within the US and in many countries, but drop fees vary by route and company, and some routes prohibit them. We compare one-way totals across companies so you see the real cost before confirming.

Most US rentals may enter Canada with advance notice; driving into Mexico is often prohibited or requires the company's Mexican insurance and specific locations. In Europe, some companies restrict certain countries. Tell us your full route and we book a rental that allows it.

Yes. Infant, toddler and booster seats can be reserved for a daily fee, subject to availability. Many families bring their own, since airlines generally check car seats at no additional charge. We reserve seats in advance and confirm the airline's policy for your flight.

You receive the car with a full tank and return it full. If you return it with less, the company refuels at its own rate plus a service charge. Prepaid fuel options are only worthwhile if you expect to return the tank nearly empty.

When we book the flight with the car, the flight number goes on the reservation so the location tracks your arrival. For after-hours arrivals we choose locations with late or 24-hour counters, or arrange a next-morning pickup. Call us and we will adjust.

Usually yes. Call +1 (323) 800 6001 and we will extend the return date, change the drop-off location or adjust the vehicle, and explain any rate difference. Extensions are subject to availability, so contact us as soon as your plans change.
