Frontier Airlines Pet Travel

Types of pets allowed:

• Dogs and Cats: Frontier Airlines allows domestic dogs and cats in the cabin on most flights. These must be small enough to fit comfortably in a pet carrier that can fit under the seat in front of you.
• Other Pets: Frontier Airlines accepts small household pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds (but these may require special arrangements). Exotic animals and certain breeds, like snub-nosed dogs, are not accepted due to health and safety concerns.

Petcarrier requirements:

• Size Limits: The pet carrier must fit under the seat and must not exceed the dimensions of 18" L x 14" W x 8" H.
• Carrier Type: The carrier must be leak-proof, well-ventilated, and secure. Frontier Airlines recommends soft-sided carriers as they tend to fit better under the seats.
• Number of Pets per Flight: Frontier allows only 1 pet per passenger, and there is a limit on the number of pets allowed in the cabin per flight, so it's essential to reserve your pet's spot in advance.

Pet fees:

• In-Cabin Pets: Frontier Airlines charges a fee of $99 each way for in-cabin pet travel.
• Payment: This fee must be paid at the time of booking or in advance through Manage Travel on the Frontier Airlines website. Payment can also be made at the airport when checking in.

In-Cabin pet travel guidelines:

• Seating: Pets must remain in their carrier under the seat throughout the entire flight. You cannot remove your pet from the carrier during the flight.
• Pet Relief Areas: Frontier Airlines encourages passengers traveling with pets to use pet relief areas at airports before the flight to ensure their pets are comfortable during travel.

Emotional support animals:

• Policy Change: As of January 2021, Frontier Airlines no longer recognizes emotional support animals as service animals. These animals are subject to the same rules as pets and must meet the same requirements for in-cabin pet travel.
• Service Animals: Service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are still allowed in the cabin free of charge, provided the animal meets all health and behavior requirements.

Traveling with pets in the cargo hold:

• Checked Pet Policy: Frontier does not transport pets in the cargo hold. Pets are only allowed in the cabin under the seat, so travelers with larger pets may need to consider alternative travel arrangements.
