Best time to visit Roatán

Roatán is warm year-round, with daytime highs in the low to high 80s Fahrenheit and sea temperatures pleasant for swimming and diving in every month. The driest and most popular period runs from March through August, when visibility underwater is at its best and skies are mostly clear; March, April and May are particularly good. The rainiest months are October through January, when passing fronts bring gray days and choppy seas, though sunny stretches are common. Hurricane season officially spans June through November, but Roatán's southerly position means direct hits are rare; travel protection is still sensible for fall travel. The island stays on Central Standard Time all year, with no daylight saving.

West Bay, at the island's western tip, is the main resort beach: a long stretch of white sand with calm, clear water, reef snorkeling straight off the beach and a row of resorts, condos and all-inclusive properties.
