Avelo Airlines' unaccompanied minor policy

Avelo Airlines prioritizes the safety and well-being of young travelers. As of 03 February 2025, here's what you need to know about traveling with Avelo unaccompanied minors:

  • Minimum age to fly alone: Children 15 years or older can fly solo on Avelo Airlines.
  • Children 14 and under: Must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or someone at least 15 years old.
  • Booking for an unaccompanied minor: The booking process is the same for children, but ensure the child is traveling with a responsible person who can guide them through the airport. If booking for minors 15 or older, make sure they are comfortable navigating the airport independently.
  • Required documentation: For a child flying solo, a government-issued ID (or passport for international flights) must be provided.
  • Check-in procedure: Arrive early to complete check-in, luggage check, and security procedures. Be sure to have the required documentation for both the minor and the accompanying parent/guardian.

Avelo Airlines doesn't offer special services for minors flying alone. However, parents should ensure their child can safely navigate the airport and follow instructions from the crew.

Avelo Airlines' infant policy

Avelo Airlines also welcomes young travelers under 2 years old. Here's everything you need to know when flying with an infant:

  • Infant travel: Children under 2 years old can either travel on your lap or have their own seat. If you choose the lap child option, the infant does not require a separate seat, and you can book the Infant in the Lap option.
  • Child Restraint System (CRS): The FAA recommends using a CRS for infants and toddlers for safety, and every CRS must meet the required size and labeling criteria.
  • Infants over 2: Once a child turns 2, they must have their own seat with a CRS or seatbelt.
  • No additional charge for car seats or strollers: Strollers and car seats can be checked in for free. There's no added Avelo Airlines unaccompanied minor fee to bring these for your baby.

For added convenience, pre-boarding is available for families traveling with children under 2. This allows families extra time to settle in before other passengers board.

When traveling with an infant or unaccompanied minor, always double-check the airline's specific policies. Each country has different regulations for minors, especially for international flights.
