As of September 2026, only Delta, American and United still sell senior fares, and only "in certain markets" by phone or through a senior traveler type in the booking form; no US airline publishes a fixed senior percentage. Southwest states plainly that it does not offer senior fares, and JetBlue, Alaska, Hawaiian, Frontier, Allegiant and the major international carriers publish none.
This is the table companion to our guides on the American Airlines senior discount and United senior discounts. Each row was checked on the airline's website in September 2026. Where a page could not be loaded by our tools, the row says so.

"Not published" means we found no senior fare on the airline's site in September 2026. Airlines file and withdraw fares constantly, so the honest answer for any route is a live check by phone.
How it works
- A senior fare is a filed fare, not a coupon. American, Delta and United file senior fares only on certain routes, usually leisure markets with older demand. On most routes the senior fare either does not exist or is not lower than the public sale fare.
- Ask by route and date. An agent can see whether a senior fare is filed for your exact city pair and whether seats remain in that fare class. United's booking form does the same check when you pick the senior traveler type.
- Compare with what usually beats it. Flexible dates (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday departures), a nearby airport, a shoulder-season week or a one-stop routing lowers a fare more reliably than any age-based discount.
- Add assistance at booking. Wheelchair help, pre-boarding, aisle seating and oxygen concentrators are requested through the airline, carry no fee when arranged in advance, and matter more than a small fare difference on a long day.
What documents you need
- Government photo ID showing date of birth: a senior fare requires proof of age at the airport, and the name must match the ticket exactly.
- Passport valid for the trip on international routes; several countries require six months' validity beyond the return date.
- Loyalty account number, since senior fares at United are searched while signed in and Delta's phone agents attach the fare to a SkyMiles profile.
- Medical paperwork for portable oxygen or mobility devices, submitted in advance under the airline's accessibility rules.
- Travel insurance details if you buy a nonrefundable senior fare and want cover for illness before departure.
