Best time to visit Turkey
Turkey's climate varies by region. April through May and September through October are ideal almost everywhere, with warm sunshine in Istanbul, mild days in Cappadocia and swimmable seas on the coast without midsummer heat. June through August is hot and busy, particularly in Antalya and around Bodrum, where temperatures often exceed 95°F, though beach resorts and boat trips are at their fullest. Cappadocia balloons fly year-round, weather permitting, with the most reliable conditions in spring and fall and snow-dusted valleys in winter. Istanbul's winters are cool and rainy but uncrowded, with museums and bazaars at their most relaxed. Note that Ramadan dates shift each year and can affect restaurant hours outside tourist areas.
