Best time to visit Egypt
Egypt is dry year-round, and temperature drives the seasons. October through April is the prime season, with Cairo highs in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit and Luxor and Aswan in the 70s and 80s, ideal for walking through temples and tombs. December through February is the busiest and coolest period, with cold desert nights and the highest demand for Nile cruises. March and April bring warm days and occasional sandstorms, while May through September is very hot in Upper Egypt, often above 100°F, though early-morning touring and cruises with pools make summer visits workable and less crowded.
